Conveyors are used to dry composite materials in customers processing line. An enclosure is designed by the customer to best use an existing furnace and other available equipment for an approximate temperature of 300 degrees (F). Floor space is at a premium making a stacked conveyor design attractive. Product falls over the discharge end to the mid-conveyor reversing the flow of material while turning the material over for more even drying. Product is carried across over 86 feet of conveyor using less than 32 feet floor space. Product time in the dryer can be varied from 86 minutes to 29 minutes by adjusting a single drive unit. Material is fed onto the upper level conveyor when it is damp and possibly sticky. A powered brush is used to keep the 60" wide flush top belt surface clean. Conveyor belting has perforations for a more efficient heat exchange. Hinged steel plates have a one piece construction with cross bar reinforcement adding rigidity to greater belt widths. The inside of the conveyor frames allow for future installation of partitions if zoned heating is required. Special consideration has increased production with hands on process design. |
